Kits are organized by date, but are all ready for Pick-up beginning September 11 & 12. 

Little STEM Explorers: Backyard Safari (Ages 3-6) – Discover the animals living all around you and the places they call home!

Amazing Polymers (Ages 6 – 9) – Polymers are everywhere! Learn all about polymers and their unique chemistry with our exciting hands-on experiments.

Kitchen Chemistry (Ages 9 – 14) – Ever wonder what makes bread rise, what molecular gastronomy means, or why foods have certain tastes? Discover the chemistry in your food with these tasty experiments!

Mini Makers – City Creator (Ages 6-9) –  Explore shapes, collect building skills, and create your own city!

Back by popular demand, in limited quantities:

Earth, Moon, & Sun (Ages 6-9) – Discover the planet you call home, learn about the relationship we have with the Moon (our only natural satellite!) and Sun, and explore our place in the solar system!

 


Details & FAQs – Camp Kits ($25/$20 Members)

What does my child receive by registering?
Each registered child will receive all materials necessary to enjoy a week’s worth of camp activities. They will also receive supplemental activity ideas, and links to videos to support learning. Each registration includes exclusive access to virtual demonstrations and activities lead by our Works Education Team.

What is in my themed kit?
The items included in your kit will vary based on the theme you have selected. Registrants will receive instructions for each activity and the materials required to complete each activity. Additionally, campers will receive coloring sheets and other activities to continue their exploration!

Will my child be spending a lot of time on a computer or other digital device?
No. [email protected] Kit experiences are all designed to engage your child through design, exploration, and discovery. Participants will be provided with materials to complete activities both inside and outside the home. Virtual components of our programming are optional and offer additional experiences and connections.

Will there be any activities at The Works for camp?
No. All activities for [email protected] Camp Kits take place at your home.

Will I need to return any items to The Works?
No. All pieces in the kit are yours to keep!

Where do I pick up my Works kit?
Camp Kits are available for Curbside Pick-Up at The Works on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am – Noon. Pick-up will be located at our School Tour Entrance on 1st Street. Simply pull into our Bus Parking in front of the SciDome and Museum and call the number provided to check in. A Works staff member will bring your camp kit out to your car!

NEW! Free porch drop-off is now available for addresses within Licking County. Email [email protected] to find out which day of the week we will be in your area or with any questions about pick-up and drop-off options. Drop-off dates: August 14 & 15, Aug. 21 & 22, and Aug. 28 & 29.


Details & FAQs – Virtual Camp Kits ($175/$150 Members)

What does my child receive by registering for a Virtual Camp?
Each registered child will receive materials necessary to enjoy a full week of virtually guided camp programming. Virtual Camp experiences will be led by our STEM Education Director and include opportunities to learn, share, and connect with other campers.

What is in my Virtual Camp kit?
The items included in your kit will vary based on the Virtual Camp you have selected. Registrants will receive detailed information about materials provided and the hardware/software requirements to complete the camp activities. If you have any questions about what is included in the kits or technology requirements, please email [email protected]

Will my child be spending a lot of time on a computer or other digital device?
Our Virtual Camp experiences are designed to be a blend of independent and collaborative learning. A computer or other digital device is required to participate in design specific instruction and sharing amongst campers.

Will there be any activities at The Works for camp?
No. All activities for Virtual Camp Kits take place at your home.

Will I need to return any items to The Works?
Makers Virtual Kits will not have any items to return. Robotics Virtual Kits will have items that will need to be returned at your convenience. This will be scheduled with the Works Education team.

Where do I pick up my camp kit?
All registrants will schedule a pick-up time during the week before the selected Virtual Camp begins. If you have any questions about the scheduling process, please email [email protected]
