July 13-17, 9:30-11:00AM or 12:30-2:00PM

Robotics Camp (Ages 9-11)

Campers will build their own EV3 robot and work through programming challenges with The Works STEM Director in this online platform.  Discover sensors and learn how they can improve your robot. Participants in this camp will be loaned all EV3 robotics equipment needed to complete the programming challenges. A computer or other programming device is not included. Free software links will be provided.

Jr. Robotics Camp (Ages 6-8)

Campers will create, explore, test and share using the LEGO WeDo 2.0 system.  Along with The Works STEM Director your camper will build and program many different WeDo 2.0 robots. Participants in this camp will be loaned all WeDo 2.0 materials needed to complete the camp activities. A computer or other programming device is not included. Free software links will be provided.

Makers & Innovators Camp (Ages 9-11)

Explore science and technology through tinkering!  Campers will get creative with Makey Makey and Scratch.  Making is about more than the act of creation.  Your camper will get to share what they have done with The Works STEM Director and other campers in this online experience.  As part of this camp you will receive a Makers & Innovators kit that includes a Makey Makey Classic plus other supplies. A computer or other programming device is not included. Free software links will be provided.

Details & FAQs – Camp Kits ($25/$20 Members)

What does my child receive by registering?
Each registered child will receive all materials necessary to enjoy a week’s worth of camp activities. They will also receive supplemental activity ideas, and links to videos to support learning. Each registration includes exclusive access to virtual demonstrations and activities lead by our Works Education Team.

What is in my themed kit?
The items included in your kit will vary based on the theme you have selected. Registrants will receive instructions for each activity and the materials required to complete each activity. Additionally, campers will receive coloring sheets and other activities to continue their exploration!

Will my child be spending a lot of time on a computer or other digital device?
No. [email protected] Kit experiences are all designed to engage your child through design, exploration, and discovery. Participants will be provided with materials to complete activities both inside and outside the home. Virtual components of our programming are optional and offer additional experiences and connections.

Will there be any activities at The Works for camp?
No. All activities for [email protected] Camp Kits take place at your home.

Will I need to return any items to The Works?
No. All pieces in the kit are yours to keep!

Where do I pick up my Works kit?
Camp Kits are available for Curbside Pick-Up at The Works on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am – Noon. Pick-up will be located at our School Tour Entrance on 1st Street. Simply pull into our Bus Parking in front of the SciDome and Museum and call the number provided to check in. A Works staff member will bring your camp kit out to your car!

If you are unable to pick up your camp kit during that time, please email [email protected] and the Education Team will help you make alternative pick-up arrangements.


Details & FAQs – Virtual Camp Kits ($175/$150 Members)

What does my child receive by registering for a Virtual Camp?
Each registered child will receive materials necessary to enjoy a full week of virtually guided camp programming. Virtual Camp experiences will be led by our STEM Education Director and include opportunities to learn, share, and connect with other campers.

What is in my Virtual Camp kit?
The items included in your kit will vary based on the Virtual Camp you have selected. Registrants will receive detailed information about materials provided and the hardware/software requirements to complete the camp activities. If you have any questions about what is included in the kits or technology requirements, please email [email protected]

Will my child be spending a lot of time on a computer or other digital device?
Our Virtual Camp experiences are designed to be a blend of independent and collaborative learning. A computer or other digital device is required to participate in design specific instruction and sharing amongst campers.

Will there be any activities at The Works for camp?
No. All activities for Virtual Camp Kits take place at your home.

Will I need to return any items to The Works?
Makers Virtual Kits will not have any items to return. Robotics Virtual Kits will have items that will need to be returned at your convenience. This will be scheduled with the Works Education team.

Where do I pick up my camp kit?
All registrants will schedule a pick-up time during the week before the selected Virtual Camp begins. If you have any questions about the scheduling process, please email [email protected]
