Joe Sinsabaugh’s work is a reflection of his deep lifetime connection to Nature, to Native Culture, and to Newark, Ohio. He scours freshly plowed fields along local waterways, and examines his own woods and hillsides for found objects and local materials that inspire his reverence for Native American imagery, natural beauty, and opportunities to bring his creative focus to Indian mounds, petroglyphs, and ancient artifacts.
Joe is always conscious of the presence of prehistoric time in the contemporary context, and his work interprets what that can tell us about time, disintegration, power, and beauty.
