Featured: Donate to the Marcia W. Downes Future Exhibits Fund

This fund has been established in honor of Marcia Downes’ more than 20 years of service to The Works. Marcia began working in close partnership with The Works’ founder, Howard E. LeFevre, in the late 1990s, bringing to life his vision to establish an interactive learning center on the site of an 1800s Newark, Ohio, industrial space.

The Marcia W. Downes Future Exhibits Fund will be used at the discretion of the Executive Director to continue to deliver on The Works’ vision to serve as:

Giving Society

Giving Society pledges allow you the flexibility of supporting The Works with a specific recurring transaction or in one lump sum. A great way to give in small increments and make a big impact!

Giving Society Levels:

• $25,000 – LeFevre Legacy Society
• $10,000 – Scheidler Society
• $5,000 – Jewett Interurban Society
• $2,000 – Ohio Erie Canal Lock #9 Society
• $1,000 – Futures Society
• $500 – Jerrie Mock Society (NEW!)

Endowed Gifts

Your endowed gift helps sustain museum operations and ensure quality programming. You may choose from several funds to designate your permanently restricted gift:

SciDome

Help support the newest addition to The Works – a SciDome planetarium. This project is a one-of-a-kind public/private collaboration between The Works and The Ohio State University at Newark to benefit all Works’ visitors, members, and Ohio State Newark students.

We welcome in-kind contributions of goods or services. Due to space restrictions, please contact us at 740-349-9277 before dropping off items.

Types of In-Kind Donations We Accept
• Historical Items donated to our Collections Department
• Items or services that assist with museum operations
• Items or services that support our fundraising events (auction items, catering, etc.)

Kroger Community Rewards

You can select The Works as your designated organization through the Kroger Community Rewards program to make an impact each time you shop. All funds are donated through Kroger, with no costs to the shoppers. New members can enroll by visiting the Kroger Community Rewards website and signing in or creating an account. Then, search “The Works” or the number UI033 and click the “Enroll” button.

Pave the Future! Create a lasting impression with a commemorative brick in our LeFevre Courtyard. Purchase a brick or paver with a custom inscription.
