Takizawa uses glass to speak about his personal experiences

Join us for the exhibit opening on April 13 from 5 to 7 PM, featuring a collection of blown-glass work created by The Works Spring 2018 Artist in Residence, Kazuki Takizawa. Currently based in Los Angeles, California, Kazuki graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with High Honors in 2010. He has since worked and taught at various glass educational facilities including Pilchuck Glass School and Public Glass. For the past decade, Takizawa has been making work in glass to speak about his personal experiences with mental illness. He has traveled to numerous universities in the country such as Columbus College of Art and Design and University of Southern California to speak about his work and experiences.
